I found this article on teamBoo’s blog (that I found linked through TrueLu’s blog).

It is a near perfect explantion of what Mothers and Fathers DO all day long when raising children.

I know I haven’t even come close to everything parenting will entail but while reading this article…I felt validated. And I laughed.

What makes me think I am up for the challenge of teaching “virtually everything…language, manners, safety, resourcefulness, discipline, curiosity, creativity, empathy. Everything”??…

I guess it’s her little face looking at me saying “What now Mama?” It lights a fire under me and I GO!

Shayna Proctor - I really loved this. I want to pass it on to all the mothers I know. I can’t think of any harder job than raising kids. Here’s to you…Here here! Here here!March 28, 2011 – 9:22 pm

nikki - My first reaction is the same as hers… do you even have friends with kids? And if you do, have you ever spent more than 5 minutes with them? If so, this would be a non issue. I sometimes wonder where my time goes, why my house is still really only surface clean, why I struggle to get the dinner done on time, so the kids can eat, take a bath, read some books and wind down before bedtime, which these days seems to come later and later because it sure does take a lot longer to do than it should, especially when your husband is still at work while you try to do all of these things. Mothers are a marvelous work and a wonder. A thankless job, but more meaningful, terrifying, responsible and joyful than any day job I can think of. You go, Rach.March 29, 2011 – 9:55 am

Amy Labrum - Made. my. day! Love this!!! Cannot wait for you to make a trip home so that we can see that babe… and shower you with some gifts! She is so beautiful-enjoy each moment. Luv ya xoxoMarch 29, 2011 – 2:59 pm

Whitney - Are you kidding me right now?!?! This is the best article!! This is me TIMES TWO!!!!!! Isn’t it funny how people with no kids view the lives of their friends or strangers with kids?!? I think motherhood is the HARDEST and most rewarding job. Its hard because you never get a break. NO lunch break with friends, no shopping by yourself, and no going to the bathroom yourself ( I always have someone following me into the potty room!!!). Even at ten o’clock when everyone is asleep moms ( and sometimes dads) are still up doing “mommy” things…. Getting laundry done, taking a shower for the first time in three days, getting the “art” project off the walls….. You get the idea. It’s the best job in the world….. That never ends and certainly doesn’t end at 5 pm! I am so in love with my kids and would not change it for anything…..well maybe a 5 minute potty break by myself!!!! Gotta give it to the working peeps out there but I would have robe bias and say that moms take the cake hands down….and not to mention us WORKING moms too… ( ha ha as I sit here and type one of my littles comes into my room because he had a bad dream….. Yep still mom at midnight!!!!!)March 29, 2011 – 9:46 pm
